It was such a beautiful tree on the edge of the water. I took & edited this pic yesterday. I loved the B&W effect, but I also loved it in it’s natural color, so I decided to make it both. Today, I searched for a quote on trees, and this one came up… I thought it was perfect as it also captured both sides.
“There are two trees, each yielding its own fruit. One of them is negative….it grows from lack of self-worth and its fruits are fear, anger, envy, bitterness, sorrow – and any other negative emotion. Then there is the tree of positive emotions. Its nutrients include self-forgiveness and a correct self concept. Its fruits are love, joy, acceptance, self-esteem, faith, peace…and other uplifting emotions.” – Kathi’s Garden
“Your flesh is not a reflection of your soul. So when you look in the mirror, remember that your light outshines your flaws.” – D. Antoinette Foy
“When we embrace who we are the world embraces us right back.” – Amy Leigh Mercree
“Why are you trying so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out?” – Ian Wallace
“You are always a valuable, worthwhile human being – not because anybody says so, not because you’re successful, not because you make a lot of money – but because you decide to believe it and for no other reason.” – Wayne Dyer
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Mandela
“We must all obey the great law of change. It is the most powerful law of nature.”
BE HUMBLE – Don’t think you know it all. See yourself as a life-long learner who is always seeking ways to learn, grow & improve. See everyone as a teacher & learn from everyone you meet. Be open to new ideas & strategies to take your life, school & work to the next level. When people tell you that you are great don’t let it go to your head. And when they tell you that you stink, don’t let it go to your head. Be kind to everyone & let people know that they matter. Live with humility because the minute you think you have arrived at the door of greatness it will get shut in your face. Humility doesn’t mean you think less of yourself. It just means you think of yourself less.
BE HUNGRY – Follow your passion, continuously improve & continue to dream. Seek out new ideas, new strategies & new ways to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Invest the time, energy, sweat & dedication to be your best & let God do the rest. Be willing to pay the price that greatness requires. Don’t be average. Strive to be great. Become the hardest worker you know. Love the process & you’ll love what the process produces. Decide to leave a legacy. Even at a young age it’s important to think about what legacy you want to leave because knowing how you want to be remembered helps you decide how to live today. Don’t focus on where you’ve been. Focus on where you are & where you are going. Make your life & work a quest for excellence. Every day ask how I can be better today than I was yesterday? Make your next work your best work. Regardless of your age, education or career status, if you stay Humble & Hungry everything else will take care of itself.
“Today I affirm that there is nothing in me but love. This love comes from total acceptance of myself & the understanding that I AM a perfectly imperfect human being. I will walk through today & allow myself to fully express my perfection. I realize that all my “faults” are actually the Universe’s unique way of expressing itself through me. I let go of self judgment & any projected judgments of others that I have chosen to believe & finally allow myself to just be what I truly am: infinite. As this is true for me, so it is true for all other beings on the planet. I will choose to accept everyone in my life with the same radical acceptance I have for myself knowing that we are all perfectly imperfect human beings simply doing the best we can. And so it is.” – Jackson Kiddard
“Humility is recognition of truth. Your worldly accomplishments are a gift bestowed upon you by the Uni-verse, nothing is possible without the support of the invisible realm of the Infinite Mystery. When you know that you actually do nothing and are simply a channel for the Good, Abundance, Joy and Peace that already existed before your birth to be rearranged to your preference you will be in harmony with Life. The minute you buy into being the doer of anything you have taken yourself out of the flow and stepped back into Ego thinking.
All things have been created by the Joyful will of the Infinite Mystery, Life is an experience of making choices about how you want to arrange things in your life. You can choose to arrange things in a Fearful, Egoic way, or you can choose to arrange things in a Loving and Joyful way. When you choose Love and Joy you align with the greatest and highest Good and begin to express your unique creative perspective while at the same time feeling a oneness with everyone else. This will leave you with a feeling of wholeness, joy, peace and gratitude.”
– Jackson Kiddard
“All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“The only source of knowledge is experience.” – ~Albert Einstein~
There is no secret recipe for happiness & contentment. The individuals who move through life joyously have not necessarily been blessed with lives of abundance, love, success & prosperity. Such people have, however, been blessed with the ability to take the circumstances they’ve been handed & make them into something great. Our individual realities are colored by perception—delight & despair come from within rather than without. Situations we regard as fortuitous please us while situations we judge inauspicious cause us no end of grief. Yet if we can look at all we have accomplished without dwelling on our perceived misfortune & make each new circumstance our own, the world as a whole becomes a brighter place. A simple shift in attitude can help us recognize & unearth the hidden potential for personal & outer world fulfillment in every event, every relationship, every duty & every setback.
The universe is often an unpredictable & chaotic place & the human tendency is to focus on the negative & assume the positive will care for itself. But life can be no more or no less than what you make of it. If you are working in a job you dislike, you can concentrate on the positive aspects of the position & approach your work with gusto. What can you do with this job that can turn it around so you do love it. When faced with the prospect of undertaking a task you fear, you can view it as an opportunity to discover what you are truly capable of doing. Similarly, unexpected events, when viewed as surprises, can add flavor to your existence. By choosing to love life no matter what crosses your path, you can create an atmosphere of jubilance that is wonderfully infectious. A change in perspective is all it takes to change your world, but you must be willing to adopt an optimistic, hopeful mind-set. DailyOM
